Whether it was Ubuntu, Fedora, or RedHat, the recent upgrades to Windows 10 left my Windows shares inaccessible via Samba. I have done the stepd suggested by Mark Vayman now, but it didn't fix the problems. For the past few weeks I’ve been battling to get my Linux instances to access file shares on my Windows 10 instances over the network. I really feel that it's doing a disservice to the OP to recommend that he do anything other than reinstalling Windows Home Server to put it rather bluntly, it's not your server and data that will be messed up if this sort of hack turns out (in a few days or weeks) not to have worked as well as one might hope. Were I in this possition, after installing (in this case) the DEMigrator service, I would have no confidence that I would wind up with a fully functional server, just one that's had the immediate and obvious problem patched up, but which could still have other problems that won't show up for days or weeks.

Windows Home Server has a lot of moving parts it may be possible to install a missing service in the fashion recommended here, but without an understanding of why that service failed to install in the first place, you have no reason to believe you're fixing any underlying problem. I recommend a reinstallation of the Windows Home Server operating system in cases of a missing service, not the installation of just that service. Check Mark Vayman's first post here to see if it gets rid of that 59. It looks like you did some of it before, but not all of it. Let's deal with the Shadow ACL diff from Tombstone first. You now have a file that can be deleted normally. It will ask you if you want to overwrite, click Yes. Then copy the file to the server in the same folder as the broken reparse point. So I thought of a really simple way to delete them: from a client PC, create a new txt file, then rename it the exact same name (including extension) as the broken reparse point on the server. When I was tinkering around with RC1 files, I ended up accidentally trashing some files as well (and I couldn't get fsutil reparsepoint to work for me every time either). I have searched every post related top this subject. Go to the folder containing the invalid files (D:\shares\.) open a command prompt on the WHS serverĢ.
